International Solo Festival

Cine-Teatro Garrett, Sala Principal (Main Room)

Guillaume Karpowicz has been pushing diabolo to new horizons by going away from the tradition of circular diabolo. In a quest for necessity, the developed language is based on removing rather than adding up. He chooses bounces and lines as the core of his repertoire, which is animated by a strong rhythmical influence. He has recently developed an appreciation for new diabolo-related objects.

Born in France, where he started doing diabolo 14 years ago. Graduates from DOCH, the University of Dance and Circus of Stockholm, in 2016. Got a special prize from the jury at the 38th Festival Cirque de Demain in 2017. Since then, he tours his short act all over the world. In parallel, he works on a longer format in collaboration with the Danish musician Thomas Knak.
