"DECLIVE" reflects, in a more or less premeditated way, the distance traveled between the (sometimes literal) turbulent period of touring, marked by anxiety attacks, sudden panic attacks and family crises; and the period of recovering the primordial values of love, friendship, spirituality and returning to a once again childlike passion for making music. All this happens in a labyrinthine and almost never autobiographical way. One of the challenges was precisely to create radically different stories and characters and give them their own credibility, relevance and relevance. Basically, with all the escapes that brought him here, EU.CLIDES has left nothing behind. The album features production by Pedro da Linha and lyrics by TOTA.
EU.CLIDES was born in Cape Verde in 1996 and grew up in Portugal. At the age of eight, he entered the music conservatory, where he began studying classical guitar. In 2016 he toured for the first time with the Senegalese group Daara J Family and later with Cape Verdean artist Mayra Andrade. In 2020, he released his first single, "Terra-Mãe", followed by "Ira Para Quê?" and "Tempo Torto", a collaboration with Branko. The album "Declive", released in 2023, with lyrics by Tota and production by Pedro da Linha, is a profound work, inspired by parables that explore the complexities of life. EU.CLIDES creates a captivating sound experience that blends influences ranging from classical music to electronica, Cape Verdean music and gospel.
