Synopsis
Corpo-Máquina is a manifestation of an apology for the human body as it is, maintaining a direct relationship with the machine. The human body is not treated as something obsolete: this body is the most perfect machine ever known, because it is from it that all the other machines exist - therefore, all technological machines are a product derived from Man and, in turn, from all the bodies that make him up.
These objects function as a kind of protector, parts of mechanical skeletons that serve as armor to preserve the most important thing we have, which is our body - as well preserved as possible - so that we can live longer.
Biography
Rodolfo Lopes is currently finishing his Masters in Fine Arts – Sculpture, at Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto.
“my own BODY.” presents pieces about his body, in an encounter with his inner self – the self. His artistic practice ends and begins with an idea of self-representation and self-portrait.
He has participated in several exhibitions, including: Transitory Art II, at the Eurostars Museum, Present Continuous 2021, at Bistrô Almada Ponto, LONGING.IMAGE, at EXPO 2020 DUBAI, Contextile “Emergências”, Essays on a Collection, at Galeria Municipal do Porto. His pieces are in the collections of Hotel The Largo and Câmara Municipal do Porto.
