Synopsis

This meeting invites participants to get closer to the creative universe of the choreographer and dancer. It will be a moment of sharing in which she will reveal some of the elements she considers essential in her relationship with dance — both in creation and interpretation.
The session proposes a set of exercises and practices that are part of her artistic journey and which, in this context, will be shared with participants. In a relaxed atmosphere open to experimentation, there will be space to explore the influences, thoughts and gestures that fuel her work.

Biography

Ana Isabel Castro graduated from the Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon. As a performer, she has collaborated with Compagnie 7273, Circolando, Companhia instável, Kale Companhia de Dança, Jonathan Uliel Saldanha, Joclécio Azevedo, and Diogo Oliveira. She premiered her first creation, Marengo, in 2019. In 2021, ICEBERG, in 2023 Pechisbeque and, in 2025, Adoçar, her most recent show. She was one of the JAA! — Young Artists Associated with the Municipal Theater of Porto in the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons. Ana Isabel is the first winner of the Jovens Artistas Dança Coliseu Porto Ageas award.
